Governance

Natixis Asset Management* is a société anonyme (S.A.) under French law with a board of directors and a chief executive officer.

*Natixis Asset Management was formed following the merger of Natexis Asset Management and Ixis Asset Management. Natexis Asset Management, established in 1998, was Banque Populaire’s asset management company, while Ixis Asset Management, set up in 1984, was Caisse d’Epargne’s asset management company.

The Natixis AM's board of directors is chaired by Pierre Servant and the executive committee gathers:

  • Matthieu Duncan, CEO
  • Valérie Derambure, Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Operations
  • Ibrahima Kobar, Deputy CEO and Co-CIO in charge of fixed income
  • Emmanuel Bourdeix, Co-CIO in charge of equities and mixed assets

Matthieu Duncan

CEO

Matthieu Duncan is CEO of Natixis Asset Management, a leading European-based asset manager with more than €360 billion ($378 billion) managed on behalf of institutional and retail clients as of December 31, 2016. Natixis Asset Management and its affiliates Mirova, H2O Asset Management and Dorval Asset Management help clients address their needs with broad capabilities in fixed income, mixed assets, differentiated equities, responsible investments, and alternative solutions such as private debt and equity infrastructure.
Matthieu Duncan began his career in the financial industry at Goldman Sachs, where he held various positions within capital markets activities of the firm in Paris and London between 1990 and 2003. From 2004 to 2015, he held various positions in the asset management sector in London: Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Equities at Cambridge Place IM, Head of Business Strategy and member of the Board of Directors of Newton IM (a Bank of New York Mellon company), and Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the Board of Directors of Quilter Cheviot IM.
A dual French and US citizen, Matthieu completed his MBA degree at the University of Texas (Austin) and his BA degree in Business Economics at the University of California (Santa Barbara).

Valérie Derambure

Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Operations

Valérie Derambure began her career in 1986 at Deloitte Audit before joining Groupe CPR at the end of 1988, first as project manager and then as Head of Finance Control. In 1994, she was appointed Financial Director of the group’s American subsidiary in New York. She next worked as Finance Control Director at CIC Paris, then at CDC IXIS Capital Markets and joined Natixis in 2004 first as Finance Control Director and then as Deputy Financial Director. In 2009, Valérie was appointed Head of Organization and Operational Efficiency. She joined Banque Privée 1818 in 2011 as Deputy CEO in charge of Finance, Risks, Human Resources and Corporate Secretariat. Valérie Derambure has been appointed Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Operations for Natixis Asset Management and member of its Executive Committee, with effect as of April 3 2017.
Valérie Derambure is a graduate of ESCP business school.

Deputy CEO and Co-CIO in charge of fixed income

Ibrahima Kobar began his career in 1989 as statistician at the economic, banking and financial research at Société Générale. In 1991, he joined Midland Bank where he acted as actuary/fixed-income manager.
In 1994, Ibrahima Kobar joined Ixis Asset Management* as insurance portfolio manager in the bond management department. In 1998, he was appointed head of insurance management, derivatives and structured products.
In 2007, he became head of bond management and, in 2010, CIO Fixed-income at Natixis Asset Management and member of the Executive Committee.
Since 2012, he is co-Chief Investment Officer of Natixis Asset Management,
in charge of Fixed income investment division.

Ibrahima Kobar is an actuary with a degree from Institut de Statistiques de Paris (ISUP) and is a member of Institut des Actuaires Français (IAF). He is also Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Emmanuel Bourdeix began his career in 1995 at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson as arbitrage analyst and structurer. In 1998, he joined CAAM where he acted as portfolio manager, then head of convertible bonds and volatility in 2002 and finally head of satellite equity management in 2006. In 2007, he was appointed deputy CEO of equity and diversified management and, at the inception of Amundi, head of equity Europe, world and emerging countries.
In 2010, he became CIO equity, asset allocation & structured products of Natixis Asset Management and member of the Executive Committee.
In 2012, he is named co-CIO of Natixis Asset Management, in charge of Seeyond, the Volatility and structured product* investment division of Natixis Asset Management, and of European equities, Investment and client solutions, and Global emerging investment divisions.

Emmanuel Bourdeix holds an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and a DEA [post-graduate diploma] in probabilities and finance from Université Pierre et Marie Curie.

Head of legal, monitoring and risk

 

Jean-Christophe Morandeau began his career in 1988 as wealth manager at Paribas Bank. He then joined Paribas Asset Management as head of legal department for French UCITS in 1992. In 1999 he joined Credit Agricole Asset Management as the legal head of Products & Corporate-France and became in 2004, deputy head of the Legal and Fiscal department.

 

Jean-Christophe Morandeau joined Natixis Asset Management in 2008 as general counsel. He was promoted as head of legal, monitoring (compliance and internal control) and risk in November 2014.
